A number of prime contractors are located, and undertake a large proportion of their defence-related work, within the region. The Primes and the major projects for which they have recently been, or are currently responsible for, across the region are summarised below:

  • Completed assembly of 21 Hawk Lead In Fighters (LIF)
  • Provide the through life support of the Hawk aircraft
  • Provide support to Boeing Defence Australia on the Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft program through the development, supply and integration of aircraft and ground components

 Boeing Defence Australia

  • Provide maintenance, through life support and upgrades to the F/A-18 Hornet
  • In service support on the AEW&C aircraft on delivery to the region
  • Provide Vigilare Systems for Air Surveillance and Response Group.

 Raytheon

  • Supply of F/A-18 Hornet Aircrew Training System (HACTS Acquisition)
  • In Service Support of the F/A-18 Hornet Aircrew Training System (HACTS ISS)
  • Sustainment of the ADATS (Australian Defence Air Traffic System) 

 Lockheed Martin

  • Team working on the Joint Strike Fighter program
  • Support of Tactical Air Defence Radar Systems for GTESPO

 GE Aviation

  • Through life support on a number of RAAF platforms
  • Support RAAF on Super Hornet Program
